Description

The Hover Proximity Switch is an easy-to-use switch that senses the proximity of a hand, finger, head or nearly any object. To activate the Hover, the user places his or her hand, head or other body part over the switch. An optional audible tone can be heard and a small light illuminates when activation has occurred. Is a perfect alternative switch for people who do not have the ability to apply pressure to a switch.

The sensing range can be adjusted between 1/8" and 3/4". It can be mounted behind non-conductive surfaces such as acrylic or wood (perfect for lap trays!) but keep in mind the thickness of your surface in relation to the total sensing distance of the switch. Best to be mounted away from metal parts as they may cause sensing issues (especially with the 1/8" sensing distance.)

The Hover is powered by a standard CR2032 coin cell battery, readily available from many retail stores. Under normal use, and depending on the range setting, expected battery life is approximately 100,000 or 10,000 hours. The Hover can be plugged into adapted toys or computer interfaces that have a standard 3.5mm jack. For use only with battery operated devices. This is a low voltage product. Do not use with devices that run off of wall voltage. Dimensions: 2.4" diameter, 0.8" thick. Please note that this switch may be sensitive to motors or other sources of electrical noise (such as what can be found on a powered wheelchair).
